In the majestic theatre of Dubai skyline on the terrace at the Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai, the Middle East Solar Industry Association (MESIA) unveiled the winners of the 2014 Middle East Solar Awards during a gala ceremony on December 1, 2014.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Dubai’s state utility, has announced ACWA Power as the preferred bidder of their 100MW PV IPP tender, having received a total of ten bids. The results saw Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power bid an unprecedented 5.98 cents/kWh.
With over 400 companies operating in the local PV industry, Jordan is leading the way in the development of a regional PV market. Projects from Round I are soon to get financial closure, while the preferred bidders for Round II will be announced shortly.
